Redhill FC Community Smashes Carrington Astro Fundraising Target

Redhill FC is proud to confirm that the Carrington Astro fundraising campaign has been completed, with an incredible £18,050 raised towards the new facility.

The original target was £10,000. Thanks to the extraordinary efforts of players, parents, coaches, volunteers, supporters, local partners and friends of the club, that target has not just been reached, it has been smashed.

The new astro turf pitch at Carrington is due to be built in Summer/Autumn 2026 and will provide a major boost for grassroots football in Redhill. It will support more training space, more reliable access to facilities and more opportunities for young players across the club and wider community.

A true club effort

This campaign has shown exactly what Redhill FC is all about.

Across the club, people found different ways to contribute. Coaches gave up their time. Players took on challenges. Families donated. Tournaments raised funds. Local supporters got behind the project. And together, it all added up to something special.

One of the standout fundraising efforts came through the girls’ football camps held over the half-term and Easter holidays. These camps raised more than £1,400, with coaches running the sessions and all proceeds going directly to the project.

More than 50 different girls attended across the two camps, with support from some of the club’s older age groups too. It was a brilliant example of the girls’ section coming together to support a facility that will benefit players for years to come.

A big shoutout goes to Lee T and everyone who helped make the camps such a success.

Emelia’s amazing March challenge

One of the most inspiring individual efforts came from Emelia from our U9s.

At just eight years old, Emelia raised an incredible £800 on her own by walking and running more than 200 miles throughout March.

She walked everywhere. She added extra training sessions. She even did laps of the garden.

Alongside raising money, Emelia also set herself a football challenge: to improve her keep-up skills. Over the course of the month, she went from fewer than 10 keep-ups to around 35.

That is an outstanding achievement and a brilliant example of determination, energy and Redhill FC spirit.

Well done, Emelia.

Tournaments, teams and the wider football family

The club’s tournaments also played an important part in the fundraising total, raising £700, including more than £350 from our first ever U7 tournament.

Across the wider tournament programme, Redhill FC welcomed more than 175 teams across age groups up to U14. It was a fantastic showcase of grassroots football and another reminder of the scale, strength and community feel of the club.

Every entry, every burger, every raffle ticket, every volunteer shift and every small contribution helped push the campaign closer to the final total.

A generous foundation donation

Redhill FC would also like to say a huge thank you to The Michael & Barbara Bell Foundation, whose generous £10,000 donation made a massive difference to the campaign.

This level of support is hugely appreciated and will have a lasting impact on young players and local football.

Nearly 200 individual donations

Alongside the major fundraising efforts, close to 200 individual donations were made through the club’s JustGiving page, generating nearly £6,500.

That support came from members, families, friends of the club and people who simply wanted to help create better opportunities for young players in the local area.

Every donation mattered. Whether it was £5, £50, £500 or more, each contribution helped move the club towards the final total.

The club would also like to call out Dan Godders, Michael Reeves and Craig Freeman in particular for their support throughout the campaign.

Thank you to the Redhill FC community

This campaign has been a brilliant example of what can happen when the Redhill FC community comes together.

The new Carrington Astro will support hundreds of young players, create more space for training and development, and help the club continue to grow in a way that benefits the wider community.

To everyone who donated, shared the campaign, attended a camp, entered a tournament, coached a session, sponsored the project or helped behind the scenes: thank you.

This is a huge achievement for the club.

One Club. One Community. One Redhill FC.
