Vale came out on top with a 2-1 victory in a tight game at the Brow.

Redhill lost a Premier Division South fixture for the first time since mid-August, with Raynes Park Vale coming from behind to win 2-1 at the Brow. The Reds slip to seventh in the table but still have games in hand on five of the teams above them.

Jack Knight, Redhill's new signing from Met Police, made a promising debut at centre-forward. He had very few touches in the first 15 minutes but then scored a wonder goal to give the Lobsters the lead against a side on the same points total at kick-off. Knight's determined run, which began on the halfway line, ended with a firm shot that squirmed under Vale 'keeper Bishop at his near post.

Knight had another right-footer seven minutes later, this time from outside the box, that missed the far post by a yard. But it was Vale who created more chances towards half-time. Gallagher's shot was deflected over the bar, Jack Minchin pushed away Bellikli's free-kick at full stretch and then Nathaniel Kenlock's slip allowed Ano to set up Gallagher's tap-in for an equaliser a minute from the break.

Early in the second half the players were calling for the lights to be switched on. Suddenly it had got dark as well as cold. Ten minutes from time, with Vale attacking relentlessly, substitute Downey scored from almost on the line to secure all three points for the visitors. But the outcome could easily have been different, Bishop plunging to his left to save superbly from an Alfie Huckle piledriver near the end.
