After a month without a game due to the lockdown Harrison Williams' improving Redhill side swing back into action with an away Combined Counties League fixture against Sheerwater on Saturday (3pm).
Sheerwater play at Kingfield Stadium, the home of Woking FC, and are currently placed 11th in the Premier Division table. They have won three of their nine CCL matches to date - 1-0 at home to Camberley Town, 1-0 away at Guildford City and 2-1 at home to Frimley Green. In their last outing, the night before the lockdown started, the Sheers lost 1-0 at Raynes Park Vale in the FA Vase.
Last season the Lobsters went to Sheerwater on a sunny afternoon in September and lost by the only goal scored. We pounded their goal in the closing stages but couldn't conjure up an equaliser. The return fixture at the Brow was cancelled as it had been scheduled for 28th March, five days after the first lockdown was imposed.
Redhill have been on a good run since Harrison took over the reins in mid-October. We have won four of the six matches played and knocked in 17 goals. The 3-2 Surrey Senior Cup win at Leatherhead, who are two divisions above us, in our last match has to be one of our best results in recent years. It will no doubt give us the confidence that we can really do something this season in a competition that we haven't won since 1966.
But for now the priority is to pick up three points on Saturday to help us move up that Premier Division table.
