Hat-trick from Kareem Akinnibi at Kiln Brow.

Redhill 5 Frimley Green 0 - Tuesday, 14th March 2023

Redhill gained that elusive first win under new boss Jordan Clark as they thumped Premier South strugglers Frimley Green 5-0 at Kiln Brow on Tuesday night.

The Lobsters were unstoppable in the first half, building a 4-0 lead that included a hat-trick from Kareem Akinnibi. They tore into the opposition from the first minute, Tyrese Sutherland smashing a shot against the bar as two Frimley defenders moved in too late to tackle. Three minutes later they were ahead as Akinnibi's low right-footer sped past Chris Harris.

There was no let up for the visitors' overworked 'keeper. On eight minutes Sutherland fired through a gap for 2-0 and ten minutes later Akinnibi made it three after a mix-up between two Frimley defenders left him in the clear. Sutherland hit the bar again before Akinnibi completed his hat-trick two minutes from the break.

The visitors, bottom of the table with just three wins, packed their defence to keep the score down. Akinnibi and substitute Andrew Demby each struck a post but the Reds added just one more goal to their tally, alert substitute Connor Colcutt rushing in to tap the ball home after Frimley's stand-in 'keeper had palmed Sutherland's fierce shot away.

Redhill move back into the top half of the table with a clear-cut victory certain to boost their confidence going into Saturday's home clash with AFC Croydon Athletic.
