Match Report

An Alex Keating double won the points for Redhill as they edged Met Police 2-1 in difficult wet and windy conditions at Kiln Brow on Saturday. After five games, the Lobsters were second in the Premier South table, level on points with leaders Fleet Town.

Redhill had the better of the early chances, the pick of them when Met Police 'keeper Zack Basey somehow managed to turn away a bullet of a left-footer from George Bond. But the home side had to wait until the last minute of the first half to take the lead.

Seanan McKillop curled in one of his lethal corners from the left, the ball took a couple of deflections on its journey from near to far post and Keating stabbed it in from a yard out. Four minutes into the second period the goal poacher looking his sharpest this season was at it again.

Ethan Ford bravely charged down an attempted clearance by a Police defender and slipped an astute pass through to Keating who ran on to rifle a shot into the bottom left corner for 2-0. Then Ford tested Basey with a volley that looked a goal all the way.

There was a controversial moment on 65 minutes as referee Frangiamore awarded the Police a penalty after Redhill's 'keeper Sam Allen slid into a challenge with Jethro Odumosu. But he changed his mind, deciding to book the Police player after consulting with his assistants.

Police grabbed a lifeline as Odumosu poked home on 75 minutes and substitute Cameron Williams hit the bar a minute later. But the resolute Lobsters held on for their fourth league win out of five.
